Iran: Chabahar Railway to Join North-South Corridor

Iran's Executive Vice President Mohammad Jafar Qaem Panah has stated that the government is making great efforts to complete the Chabahar railway project and connect it to the country's railway network.

According to him, the railway will soon be connected to international corridors. Qaem Panah, who visited the North-South corridor in Chabahar, told IRNA about the strategic importance of the Chabahar railway project.

He noted that "connecting this route to the national railway network will lay the foundation for the creation of an international corridor."

The Iranian Executive Vice President added that this route will make it possible to transport necessary goods from the port of Chabahar to the north of the country, and from there to the Caucasus, Russia, and Europe, which will strengthen Iran's role in regional and global trade.
